Project Goals and Concept: Nature is one of the best ways to promote healing. “Nurturing through Nature” is what the design of the Digestive Health Clinic will focus on. In order to achieve this, the following features will be used: daylighting, materials that resemble natural elements, a soothing color scheme, and the surrounding landscape. The design will create a place where people won’t dread going to, and it is a place where they will feel safe and a sense of serenity whenever they are there.

The main features in the Waiting Area are the acoustical wood wall and ceiling paneling with an integrated lighting system, a waiting area with a variety of seating to accommodate all patients, and a coffee bar across from the front desk.

The exam room hallways also have the acoustic wood panel system, two tones of flooring to help with wayfinding, callout from the doors to help find the rooms, as well as wood railings lining the walls.

The infusion suite has six nooks with movable furniture where patients will receive treatments, televisions, remote controlled window coverings, a nourishment area with drinks and snacks and a charting station on either end, so the staff is close by.

The staff lounge has a variety of seating areas to accommodate for all needs. There is a large kitchen that is central to the offices, locker room, and restrooms.

These elevations show a variety of spaces throughout the facility. All of the spaces have the same color scheme and material selection so they all connect and the serene atmosphere is present in every room.
